The Mosman FC Way is a guide to behaviour to make us all proud to be part of our Club. We aspire to being one of Sydney’s leading amateur football clubs through our high standards for on-field and off-field behaviour.
As a club, we want to:

- Gain sponsors who can entrust their brands with Mosman FC, and
- Foster respectful relationships with the organising bodies and our opposition clubs.
- require members to exhibit good sportsmanship at all times towards players, officials and supporters
- encourage players to showcase their individual talents while contributing to the good of the team and club
- view winning as an important goal; but focus on performance, improvement and enjoyment
- support coaches with training and resources to develop not only their teams but themselves as coaches
- rely on members volunteering their time and appreciate their efforts
- support our local community as well as have its support
- Play an effective, possession-based passing game
- Build play from the back and work the ball into the attacking third
- Be adept both with and without the ball in 1 v 1 situations
- Receive and play in tight areas while developing an understanding of when and where it is appropriate to do so
- Develop well-rounded football players in an environment which teaches respect, humility, integrity, reward through effort, and fair play at all times
- Encourage players to judge and be satisfied by their own level of mastery, improvement and performance rather than judge against others
- Use a guided-learning approach encouraging players to ask questions and understand not just ‘what’ and ‘how’, but also ‘where’, ‘why’ and ‘when’
- View mistakes as steppingstones to achievement
- Correct mistakes with specific, future-oriented instruction
- Provide a learning environment where ALL levels of players will enjoy their football experience and Use a guided-learning approach encouraging players to ask questions and understand not just ‘what’ and ‘how’, but also ‘where’, ‘why’ and ‘when’
- View mistakes as steppingstones to achievement provide a pathway for our most talented and dedicated players to play at the highest level
This is how we behave as players on the field or on the bench, coaching, officiating or spectating:
- Play by the laws of the game.
- Attempt to play our best football, enjoy victory but accept defeat.
- Do not argue with the referees. Challenging the decision of a referee is more likely to result in a card than a decision being reversed.
- Verbal abuse or ridiculing of officials, players or spectators will not be tolerated.
- Discriminatory behaviour based on race, religion, gender or ability is unacceptable under all circumstances and may result in deregistration from the club.
- Physical abuse of others is not acceptable even as retaliation. Walk away from inflammatory incidents.
- Put the needs of the team ahead of your own needs. No individual is bigger than the team. No team is bigger than the Club.
- Deliver on your commitments to your teammates.
- Cooperate with your coach, teammates, match officials and Club management. This includes setting up and packing away as necessary.
- Inform the coach of any absence from training and matches with adequate notice.
- Turn up to matches and training on time.
- Wear the full Club kit during the match and warm up kit.
